Trans friendly Hotlines
1) Swithcboard - Provides an information, support and referral service for lesbians, gay men and bisexual and trans people – and anyone considering issues around their sexuality and/or gender identity. Phone support is also available on 0800 0119 100 open 10:00 am - 10:00 pm every day (UK).
2) Mind Uk - Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health. Studies have shown that Trans youth are at high risk of suicide and other mental health problems. 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide, with suicidality highest among transgender youth.
3) LGBT National hotline (USA) - Call on 888-843-4564. We help youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems, and a lot more. The people who turn to us for help often live in rural and conservative parts of the country and are frequently feeling severely isolated, closeted and despairing, with literally no one else safe to talk to
4) Trans lifeline - call on (877) 565-8860 for USA, and (877) 330-6366 for Canada. Trans Lifeline is a grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis – for the trans community, by the trans community. - Trans Lifeline is the main charity/hotline that I support through the charity support feature, given to larger creators on social media platforms such a TikTok.
5) The Trevor Project - call on 866-488-7386 (USA) , and text "start" 678-678 (USA). The Trevor Project deals with Crisis Support, Advocacy, Research, and Education for LGBTQ+ youth across the USA. They provide hotlines, as well as resources not only for LGBTQ+ youth but for allys also who seek to learn more about the issues that LGBTQ+ people face in the world today.
6) Trans Chat - Free advice and support for trans people. This is not a hotline but a peer to peer support chat room.
